MANILA – An online report about a 'no visa' policy for Filipinos in the United States is a hoax, the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. said. "The embassy of the Republic of the Philippines would like to inform the public that there is no truth to what appears to be an online news report that the United States has announced a 'no visa' policy for Filipinos," the embassy said in a statement posted on its website. The faux news came from The Adobo Chronicles, which the embassy referred to as a "satirical piece that should not be taken seriously".
The fake report stated that the US State Department had announced a 'no-visa' policy for Filipinos.
"The Embassy has been in touch with the US Department of State, which has denied making such
an announcement," the embassy said.
Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Manila said there has been no change in the visa policy for Filipinos traveling to the US.
